Really, I should have.  Why not?  Why give him a bowl of Lucky Charms to snack on when he does this...

He won't be convincing me of that one again.  As he runs around burning off his sugar high at this very moment.  Yep.. plain marshmallows might have been better! ha ha!

Do kids really even like the non marshmallow part of Lucky Charms?  I think it is just in there as a filler anyway! hee!

Oh great.. gotta go, I think he just dumped the bowl looking for the last of the 'magically delicious' ahhhhh!  Yep.. just brought the empty bowl, with a big grin on his face and two of the good ones in his hand. ha ha!

Can't blame him.. really.

random thoughts and stuff :)

I am tired today.  I feel I am about 5 hours behind.. like it should only be 2pm... but yet I could go to bed and not get up until tomorrow.  How does that make any sense? I wish I knew! ha ha!  Harley woke up stupid early.  I opened his door and he had his bottle (yes I know) his blankie, and 3 cars.  He looked sooo tired.  He looked like I felt! lol  I asked him if he wanted to come to bed with mommy.. and off he went, got cuddled in.. but would not stop talking.  Piper (the boxer) was on the bed, and for some reason he thought that was the neatest thing ever, and kept saying "poo pooo" (Piper) over and over and over again! ahhhhh!  No more sleep for us!  Then Molly (the cat) jumped up.. and it was "cat cat cat cat cat" over and over and over again!  Although, he doesn't pronounce the 't' so it was actually "ca ca ca ca ca" over and over! haa!  Then Newt (our other dog) got out of his bed and left the bedroom.. game over!  He took that as wake up time! aahhhhhh!  If the dog is getting up, then he was too!  

When I finally did get some ambition, I came downstairs to work on this. Today was my day to post on the 2 Peas GG blog!  It was 'sketch it out' day.  Fun stuff!  Super simple sketch, but fun and easy!  Just what I needed to get the mojo flowing!

By the way.. she definitely didn't get her love for bug collecting from me!  Strange child she is. hee heee!  Kidding of course. Rather proud that she doesn't run screeching at the sight of a spider! ha ha!

I think this is part of the reason I feel so blah today..

Rain rain and more rain.  That is what it looks like out my office window right now.. well 10 minutes ago I suppose.  How is that for my photo for 365 today?  You know you are lazy when.. all you do is lift the camera and take a picture of what is in front of you.. I didn't even have to leave my desk.  Talk about motivation huh!?  Good grief.  I love the rain though.. we have barely got any so far this year.. so this is actually quite nice.  And the new trees have improved soooo much over the last few days!  They are LOVING it!

I think I am going to go curl up on the couch and read a book.  Crack the window a bit and listen to the rain.. snuggle up in a soft blanket... yeah, that sounds about right!

daddy's saving the world!

That is what Laine yelled when James opened the back door to the trailer and she saw this...

"Daddy's saving the world!" ..yep, one tree at a time! heee!  Ohhh.. my girl is so environmentally aware, she makes me proud! :)

James works in the oilfield industry, and they are putting a new pipeline in right now.  When he was organizing the job and getting things going, he was told that there were some regeneration trees out there where they need to put the line in.  In other words, a logging company had gone through years and years ago.. and planted new trees when they were done.  Regeneration.  So, these trees.. so beautiful, they look like they could have came from a tree farm!  Spaced perfectly.. growing free and clear of anything that might compete for their water.. nice nice trees. 

Since we have the room on our acreage... and since we have a bit of a soft spot for nature.. we are trying our hand at transplanting.  16 trees.  16 trees that otherwise would have been removed to make way for the line (nice huh? ..don't worry, they do their part to restore the environment when they are finished as well)... only a small portion, but I like to think that these ones will grow up big and strong!

16 new babies to take care of! hee heee!  So far so good!  That was our weekend in a nutshell.  Hole digging and tree planting.  And watering.  Wish us luck!!  If only saving 16 trees really did equal saving the world.. but to a 7 year old girl, it is a pretty big deal I guess. ;)

little bits from yesterday

A fun day around the house.. and playing outside for the kiddos.  Sure enough, as soon as we went out again in the afternoon.. right after I blogged about how nice it was... the clouds rolled in! ha!  It was nice out long enough for them to have a bit of a play though (before the 30 minute crazy downpour)..

Laine did her best at hiding from the camera.. but I still captured her awesome summer hair.  I have a huge thing for summer hair.  Summer hair to me is.. 'non brushed, ran through the sprinkler and air dried.. unmanageable, so the only thing we can do is tie it up in a messy bun' type hair.  Yep.. love it.  I am thinking of growing my hair out, just so I can do it too. hee heee!  Just kidding.. as nice as it would be, I am very impatient when it comes to growing hair, and would most definitely chop it off again at some point. lol

Harley was all about the rocks.. spotted this pile of rocks, on the big rock... and was in heaven. hee heee!  

They spent some time in the sandbox (Laine was such a help and pretty much weeded the entire thing.. who knew there was a weed that would thrive in sand?  Not me.. but apparently there is!?  All gone now though.)  My two maniacs...

See Harley with his golf club and a rock?  This little man continually surprises me with things he does.  This time... he had the rock in one had, the club in the other, tossed the rock up a few inches.. swung the club and hit it!  Like a baseball!  Absolutely nuts.  Laine and I looked at each other, and I swear.. both our jaws dropped a few inches! heee!  Wonder what he could do with a real ball and an actual bat!? ha ha!

Oh wait.. she did let me get a picture of her feet...

Polka dots and bows.. two of the very best things.  I have a thing for cute summer shoes too. 

Summer is good.  So so so good. :)  

scrappy mess

I always love seeing pictures of peoples desks.. like the real stuff, the mess, how it looks while projects are underway.  Love it.  I think I know the reason why...

Scrappy messes are pretty!  I used to clean my desk up between projects.. I was sort of anal about it actually! lol  Now.. not likely to see it clean ever... and I love it! heee!  Something about the rainbow of colours, little bits and pieces (that dish on the right holds teeny tiny scraps) all over, randomly pulling things out of piles and placing them together unexpectedly.  Love scrapping with a messy desk.  I think I have officially gone full circle!  I am still trying to figure out a way to make my work surface larger! ha ha!  More desk = more mess! hee!

Today, the kids and I are in and out of the house.. doing random things.  I decorated the veranda a little... hung a mobile and some flower pots.  Now I just need some flowers to put in them! It's getting there though, hopefully I will have some pics up soon! ..after I get some flowers heee!  Nice day today.. as Laine put it "sun is out and there is finally no wind!"  You betchya!  Better get out and enjoy it a little more I think!
