The Blue Room...

I realized last week, when I posted the pictures of the little man with his totally rad baby curl... that I haven't shared pictures of his entire room yet.

It isn't quite done... although is anything ever really quite done?  Nope, I know for me it isn't anyway! ;-)  I want to add some fabric covered canvases to the wall.  Cool funky stuff.  Maybe some little boy vintage fabric... with some polka dots in the mix. hee heee!  Yep, another mission I am on... finding the right fabric.  Another new addiction perhaps? lol

So this morning, I was cleaning... tidying his room, why not take some pictures right?

This is the view from the door...

Dsc_6473blog

His bookshelf.  This is the one I painted a few months ago.  Took forever... but it was totally worth it!  The top shelf has some of his car collection... not too sure what else to do with those yet.  I would love some old printers drawers to hang on the wall, with openings big enough to hold them... that would be fun.  Just need to find some!  *hint hint mom!* ha ha!

Dsc_6456blog

This is the wall directly beside the door.  The toy box holds his blankets and sheets etc.

Dsc_6467blog

More cars...

I love those cars. :-)  These are the ones with small parts.  The other ones have small parts too (tires) but these ones are the 'noooooo way can he play with those' ones!

Dsc_6488blog

The crib is my favourite part... I slept in it when I was a baby.  :-)

I think some of the red vintage looking suitcases would be cute in here as well!  lol... yep always on a mission to find cute things for every room! he heeee!

I love paper.

I have a weakness for paper.

Big tme.

I have always had a weakness for all things paper.  So it isn't surprising that it is top of the 'favourite item, can not live without' scrapbooking list.  Well, for someone who loves paper as much as I do... my paper storage was pretty bad.  Well, the idea was good... just needed to follow through and finish it!  I used to have 4 of these folders (looooove these vertical folders!) that worked fine until I outgrew it.  So, for the last 2 years, most of my paper has been in a big ol' pile beside my 4 full folders.  Not very functional at all.  Not good for keeping in order (I like to sort by manufacturer).  If I pulled one out, and for some reason didn't use it... then it would just get stuck on top of the pile, and not in order with the rest of that paper line etc.

Yes, for a neat 'everything has to be organized' person like me, it drove me nuts.

Why it took me 2 years to fix it is beyond me.  Then 2 Peas got all that wonderful organizing stuff, so yeah... I finally did it!

Dsc_6429blog

ohhhh, it feels good to have that all done!  So easy to find what I am looking for now!

The best part about that cabinet (other than it holds those folders perfectly!) is these doors...

Dsc_6431blog

They are part of the EFFEKTIV system from IKEA.  Have I mentioned my love for IKEA? hmmmmm? lol

The flowers on the frosted glass remind me of that 'old school' KI paper... looooved that paper.

Of course after I got in 'organize and clean' mode... I didn't stop there!  I cleaned up shelf a little.  I want to fill this with lots of jars and baskets... I want it to be like a candy store.  Jars of bright fun yummy things.  It is getting there I think.  I need to get some of those new MM storage jars.  I love them because they are nice and light and made of plastic.  Won't hurt little toes if they get pulled out. ;-)

Dsc_6434blog

Notice my new Amy Butler bag down there in my bag pile? lol  Love it!  Now I can take my stuff with me if I want to!  Not that the need comes up very often, but I thought it would be super fun to be able to pack up a bag of stuff to take with me when we go away for a few days!  Super impressed when I unpacked it... BIG!  Nice quality too... and yummy yummy fabric!  Much more impressive in person!

Now that my room is nice and clean, I think I should go mess it up! ;-)

Later!

Hello Hello!

Hey!

I am finally in the mood to do 'stuff' today.  Feeling motivated even!  Every single time I come on here I tell myself I gotta get posting more... stay on top of things etc.  I am coming out of my blog slump I think... *I think* lol!  I wanna be!  So instead of doing the great big 'what have I been doing this last week' post, I am just going to share some pictures from the weekend (omg, it is already Wednesday!  yikes!) and share a layout from last week.  See... what is my problem anyway?  I did the layout last Friday night, and was going to come on Saturday and put it up here then... and now all of a sudden it is Wednesday! ?  How?

Anyhoo.

Laine did awesome on Sunday!  The whole group of skaters did great.  I think it was so cool that they got a chance to be a part of something with such accomplished skaters.  Gives them something to dream about, ya know?

We did Laine' hair in some 'messy buns' ...her request.  Here are some pictures from before we left.

Dsc_6315blog

They had to dress is bright summer clothes.  The routine was to music from High School Musical 2...perfect for a bunch of little girls!

Of course she haaaaad to grab her brother for a quick picture too...

Dsc_6320blog

Yes... I let her wear a bit of mascara for her big show.  She thought she was pretty cool I tell ya!  I think she is even giving the camera that 'look at me, I am so cute' look... little girly girl.

Here is a shot of Anabelle and Cody.  Pretty amazing I tell ya!  Can I just say quickly how darn tiny she is... like yeah, I expected her to be small... cause she has to be to be thrown in the air like that right?  But, dang!  She was soooooooo tiny!  Like under 5 feet tiny!  They were awesome to watch!

Anabelle_cody_2

That was during the finale, so all of the skaters were on the ice.  While they were making presentations and stuff, they stood right beside Laine... I could tell from the opposite side of the arena that she thought that was pretty cool!

After, there was a table so the kids could get autographs... Laine had no clue what an autograph was or why she would want it (hee heeeee) but I quickly told her and then got her in line! lol  She was all game and caught onto the 'coolness' of it... until the picture part, then she turned all shy!

Look at that smile I got from her...

Dsc_6422blog

Yeah, pretty much scared s#!tless!  Like why on earth would I get her to stand for a picture!?  She was pretty happy she had a print out to take to school for show and share the next day though! ;-)

Here is a layout I did quick on Friday night.  I got my package from 2 Peas and I haaaad to use some of the Animal Crackers stuff from MM!  I have been waiting and waiting... dying to use it!  It is so CUTE!  Love it!

This is the very first picture ever taken of Harley.  Blurry-ness and all! lol

First_photo_ever

That's all for now.  Be back tomorrow... at least I intend to! lol  Later!

Today, he has the cutest hair... ever!

He has one big curl... coming straight up off the top of his head.

Love it so much.  Makes me want to bottle up some of that baby cuteness and keep it forever!  I have a weakness for baby curls. :-)

Yep, I love me some baby curls.

Dsc_6299blog

I also have a weakness for chubby baby cheeks.

Dsc_6302blog

Dsc_6284blog

After I had taken a few pictures of him playing, I said... "Should we go find you a ba ba (bottle)?"  To my surprise, he walked right over to me and burried his face into my shoulder... I guess it was nap time after all!  Awwwweeee... melts my heart!  He is just starting to come for hugs on his own and it is the cutest things ever!  ... well, that and super cute baby curls! ;-)

Meet Mr. Owl

Dsc_6260blog

Isn't he cute?!  He is my latest Etsy purchase.  I love him.  He is going to sit right there on my desk.  I think I am a little late to the whole owl/bird craze... but let me tell you, for the last few months... I have been obsessed! lol  I even have a pair of shoes with an Owl on them! he heeee  Owls and shoes, 2 obsessions combined... now that is fun! lol

I bought him from this shop: Strawberries and Cream.  Theresia, the shop owner is just the sweetest too!  I can't wait to order more... I am loving the birds she has been making too!

How awesome is the lime green woodgrain fabric?!  LOVE IT!

Um, can I have a pin cushion obsession too? ha ha  Serious!  I have seem some really cute ones!

I also wanted to share something super exciting!  Laine is in an ice show this weekend... (she is doing a spring skating session right now 2 times a week) and the 2008 Canadian pairs champions Anabelle Langlois and Cody Hay are going to be performing!  Now how cool is that!  For a 6 year old skating obsessed girl, that is going to be pretty darn cool!  She is going to be in awe of them!  The coach mentioned last night that we can get a picture of Laine with them,  eeeeeee... can't wait!  Laine was pretty nervous about it and kept saying she didn't want to go in it... so I didn't push her, then the coach asked last night what was up... asked me "so is Laine in or what?" lol  I had to convince her it would be ok... such an emotional little girl!  ...and sure enough she had a blast at practice learning the routine and is pretty excited about it now!!

Thats all for now... gotta go get the little man up from his nap.  I can hear him above me and he is not too pleased!

Ohhh, something else fun quick... Harley's 3rd tooth is finally poking through!  One of the middle top ones... finally!  Almost 13 months and only his 3rd tooth.

Ok, for real now... gotta go! :-)

Some page shares!

I got a chance to play the other day... finally.  The mojo hasn't been around much lately.  I blame it on being sick.  But seriously, everytime I felt the energy to get up and do something... more important stuff needed to be done, clean the house, go get groceries blah blah blah.  Then finish and hit the couch... and feel sorry for myself and my plugged up nose.

BUT... one day.  Yes, one day I scrapped.  Felt gooooood.  Must find the mojo and lock it up.  Then throw away the key so it can never escape again! ha ha

Trouble_2

This first one cracks me up.  Totally.  This is one of the 'out takes' from the family pictures my mom took while she was up last month.  We procrastinated all day long with the family picture thing.  Like I mean, that would involve me on the other side of the camera right?  Why would I want to do that? he heeee  So, Harley was just getting over his flu, Laine was being a goof, I was hating getting my picture taken... and James, well... he just went along with it. lol  So after many shots with Laine making funny faces and Harley screaming, we plopped the little man on Laine's back.  Something has got to distract him right?  So, James and I are just kind of laying there not really ready for the shot (which explains why you can only see the top of his head peeking out from behind me ha ha)... but seriously this is one of my favourite photos.

He is trouble.  t - r - o - u - b - l - e.  Look at the look on his face as he grabs on to his sister's hair with both hands.  Look at his eyebrows.

t - r - o - u - b - l - e.

I am loving using little bits and pieces of stuff lately.  A sheet of patterned paper could last me a really long time! lol  I cut it up so small!  This one doesn't have much 'stuff' on it, but I love how it turned out.  Finally stocked up on some cardstock too... lots of bright colours.  My selection was getting a little drab.  I loooove the bling stuff by Bazzill!  Yum!

Here is the photo all alone... so you can really get a good look at his face! he heeeee

Dsc_6052blog

Yep.  I am in for it.  He is definitely going to keep me on my toes. he heeeee!

Here is another.  More bright cardstock, and more bits and pieces.  I used the Silhouette to cut the letters, using one of my fave fonts.

60_balloons

I know I know... need to pull out my camera soon and take some pictures.  Poor thing has been negleted for a while.  Maybe tomorrow.  Or today even.  I can't wait for it to be nice out... I need to take some bright outdoor pictures... yep, I would love winter to finally be done!  Go away snow!  Our yard was almost clear of snow and then we had like a foot of the white stuff dumped on us last week.  Brutal.

Sorta feeling a bit of mojo... maybe I should do something to get the creative juices flowing hey?!  I really wish customs didn't take so long, there is a huge box of goodies somewhere between me and 2Peas and I know opening it up and digging it all out would be the boost I need!

Need to get at my inbox today too.  Yeah... I better go.

:-)

2 weeks of random-ness!

Holy smokes.  I have seriously neglected this blog for 2 weeks... crap!  How do I update the past 2 weeks?  A post full of randoms is how!  So, here we go!

Random #1 - I have been sick with a cold for 2 weeks and 2 days.  Blech.  James has been sick with same cold for a few days less than that.  Laine had it for about 4-5 days and missed a bunch of school, and Harley has had it for about a week now... poor little man, just gets over his flu and then gets hit with this!  It is a nasty one too!

Random #2 - Being sick has influenced some major couch lounging lately.  That part has been great. hee heeeee!

Random #3 - I have a major love on for polka dots lately.  Here is some recently purchased proof...

Dsc_6235blog

I bought the black one at Home Depot and the green one at Michaels... looooove them.  Lots and lots.

Love these too...

Dsc_6248blog

Yep, I could not leave the store without these babies.  Well I did, then I went back to look at them again 10 minutes later.  That time they had to come with me.  It would make me really happy if they were as comfortable as they are cute... need to break them in a little! lol  Love!!

I ordered this tone on tone polka dot paper by Bo Bunny Press last week, can't wait to get it!  I think I got it in every colour too... yummmmy!

Yep, major polka dot love happening.  Polka dots are just so happy!

Random #4 - We got some stools for our kitchen a few weeks ago.  Right before Harley's birthday.  I wanted some retro vinyl diner style stools.  I tracked these down ...best I could do locally.  I want to re-cover them in lime green vinyl.  Just need to find some first!  They were only $40 in the automotive department at Canadian Tire! HA!  They go perfect with the industrial touches we have happening through out the house!  Love having some stools on that side of the counter!

Dsc_6241blog

Dsc_6244blog

Random #5 - I have a cool plan for the end of that cabinet... hopefully I can share a picture in a few days!

Random #6 - James' parents were up for a bit a few weeks ago.  It was so cool to have them up here!  Lots of visiting, and hanging out... fun!  It was our nieces birthday party the day after Harley's so it was a busy family fun filled couple of days!  ALSO, thanks to my mother in law, I have this bad boy sitting in my scrap room now!  I have got to play with it a few times already and it is AMAZING!  I love it!  Thank you Annette... you totally shouldn't have... you are crazy! he heeee  ;-)

Random #7 - Yesterday was our 8th Anniversary!  Time has flown by!  I can't believe it has been 8 years already!  We had an awesome day... alone, no kids!  During the day we just hung out, had some yummy lunch, did some shopping... just enjoyed each other.  Then in the evening we went bowling! (we kicked each others butt's equally) ha ha, then we had dinner (yummy yummy prime rib) then after that we went to a late show.  We saw 21... goooood movie!  It was the perfect day!  It was awesome just being together (as much as I love my children, hanging out together just us was perfect!) ...and much needed! lol

Random #8 - Yesterday was also my calendar day in the Autumn Leaves DW 2008 Calendar!  Of course I was super excited when I was assigned April 22nd... so of course I had to do a page to celebrate our Anniversary!  It was done so long ago (again, crazy how time flies!), that it is a page celebrating our 7th... but still super fun!

Calendar1_blog

Random #8 - Updated picture of Piper... who is growing like a weed, and is constantly getting into trouble! lol  We are on week 5 of Puppy Kindergarten... now that has been interesting! LOL  She couldn't be bothered with learning after we get there, she just wants to play!

Dsc_6250blog

Random #9 - Yesterday during our adventures, I did this...

Dsc_6230blog

ahhhhhhhhhh!  Can you believe it?!  I have wanted a Monroe piercing for soooooo long, but I am constantly talking myself out of it!  James surprised me by going in and asking all of the questions (I was too chicken to even step foot into the shop! ha ha), then 2 hours later I went back and got it done!  Soooo can't believe I finally did it!  It did hurt... but totally not as bad as I imagined.  The pinching of the clamp definitely hurt the most.  It is still a little red and a little bit swollen, but totally not bad for the day after in my opinion!

Yes mom... I know you hate it! he heeeee

I LOVE it!

OK... now that I have probably grossed you all out with my new piercing, I should get going for now!  Gotta refresh Piper for her puppy class tonight.  Not that it matters, cause as soon as we get there all she cares about is the other puppies! he heee!

Later! :-)

The little Tonka Truck boy...

Here is the Birthday boy!

Dsc_6139blog

I still can't get over the fact that my baby boy is one!  The party went great, lots of friends, family and good food!

He likes Tonka trucks!  We got him a Mega Block dump truck thing, big plastic truck with blocks in the back...  I had wanted to get him a real Tonka truck but I couldn't find one anywhere.  So, it was so cool when he opened a gift from some friends of ours and it was a classic metal real Tonka truck!  He looooves it!  It was so fun to see him pushing it around on his knees, so little boy!  The fun part is, they didn't even know he was having a Tonka party!  They said they were pretty worried when they walked in to see Tonka decorations all over, they figured for sure we would have got him the same thing! hee heeeeee!

He seems to have grown up in the last few days.  I don't know if it is me, just knowing that my baby is one... or the fact that he has been around other little ones a LOT in the last few days and is picking up on things.  James even notices it too.  Makes me sad... well, happy and sad at the same time.  We got braver over the weekend and he is eating a lot more things now!  This makes me happy.  He was mainly still just eating baby food.  We had tried other things in the past and he just did not like texture in his mouth... spit it right out!  So we gave up and just kept on with the baby food.  He is doing awesome with trying different things now!  I think it was just a matter of us actually getting brave and trying more.  That is just one of things that makes him seem more grown up...

I have also really been paying attention to how he plays too.  He really is playing now.  Love it.  I loved watching him interact with other little ones, so cool.

It has been a great couple of days.

But man oh man...I am a mushy sap over my baby turning one.

April 05, 2008

Happy 1st Birthday Little Man!

I can not believe my baby turns one today.  Crazy.

We started the morning like this... for the boy who loves balloons!

Dsc_6087blog

60 of them floating around!

Love it!  He is having a 'Tonka' party.  Big yellow trucks... so little boy!  It is going to be a fun day!! :-)

APRIL 1ST!

Happy April Fool's Day!

Yeah, I am a sucker big time.  Hubby has been warned that I am fully aware that is is April 1st.  I would love to say that even though I know it is the 1st... that it means I won't fall for anything... but that just ain't true.  So I am on guard, reminding myself every now and then of the date! heeee heeeeee

The 1st also means it is Garden time!  I have been counting down the days for this one, I loooove the theme this month... User Inspired!  2 Peas members rock!  I wish I had the time to lift everyone!  Some of the layouts I lifted have been in my BOS forever, and some I just recently came across in the gallery (which is totally awesome lately by the way!) ...I was so very very inspired by sooooo many peas!

Spin_spin_spin

Yep, I had so much fun with this theme.  Pretty much 100% scraplifted every yummy detail of these original layouts!

Yep, Peas rock! :-)

Ohhhhh, and guess what?  My desk is now officially clean.  Clear of all layouts.  Yep, that means they are all at home in their albums!  I still have to go through years of art work and stuff and and do some enlarged photos... but I am just happy to have my desk back for now! he heeeee!  As soon as I order some photo paper, I will get going on the rest.

And nope, that isn't even an April Fool's joke!  I know hey?!  Crazy!  It only took me what?? 2 weeks! ha ha!!
