We Decorated!

Laine was so pumped when she got home from skating last night.  She was ready to get right to decorating!  I cut her out some pumpkins, and then she drew the faces on them (so funny!) ...then we lined them all up along the bottom of the window.  We hung little ghosts all along the veranda.  Thank you dollar store! lol  Then of course our pumpkins.

We didn't do anything in our yard... well, because we don't have a yard! lol  Just a bunch of clumpy dirt... not too pretty.

We are making goodie bags tonight for trick or treaters.  Not too sure if we will get any out here, but I want to have something fun incase we do.

Super duper insanely fast fly by 'hi!'

Been doing a lot of this today...

Dsc_3508

But it isn't near messy enough yet! :-)

Gotta run to skating but wanted to pop in and say hi quick!  We are doing some Halloween decorating when we get home, so hopefully I will have some pics of some seriously cheesy Halloween stuff tomorrow! lol

Later Gater!!

Whatchya doing this weekend?

Dsc_3452a_10

Yesterday.  The 2 of them in Laine's room.  Harley went down the hall and found his sister in her bedroom.  So so so sweet.  Big sister.  Little brother.  I am so so soooo glad I ran to grab the camera after I saw this.  I need to capture more moments like this.  The day is full of them.  Moments that I want to remember forever.  I have found myself saying "next time" ...thinking that I have plenty of time to capture the moment.  I am realizing just how wrong that is... they grow up waaaaay too fast!  If I need to carry my camera around with me, I will do it!  I need to remember this forever.

A bit mushy tonight hey? heeeeee

Check this out...

Dsc_3495a_2

Yep, they are stamped.  My children have stamps on their heads.  All Laine's doing.  Can you tell?   She is so proud!  She came home from school today looking like this.  I have no clue how long Harley was like this before I finally noticed!  I said "You stamped your brother?!"  She says (in a very proud voice) "YEP, I did!"  Little trouble maker!  They are pretty cute with their stamped heads though!

Better go, Friday night movie night!  James brought home take out and we are on movie number 2.  Fast and the Furious... the first one.  We watched Gone in 60 Seconds first.  James has plans to watch Fast and the Furious 2 and 3 tonight too.  Car movie night!

Thursday afternoon...

Not much happening around here today.  I am uploading some music into itunes... fun to hear some of the songs we used to listen too ALL of the time!  I just uploaded Alanis Morissette... the whole disc.  HA!  What is REALLY crazy is, I still knew the words to the songs!  Too funny!  So, yeah... I came downstairs to scrapbook, got sidetracked with that and now it is 2:00pm and I still have not scrapbooked!  What am I doing?  I DID manage to print out a picture, that is good right?  Working on 2Peas themers for next month... it is a fun one!

Harley this morning...

Dsc_3410a

He is getting around the house really good now.  Follows me around.  Hangs onto my leg as I cook dinner.  He still likes to find the cat/dog food bowls (even though I moved them to another room) and he still likes my plant.  Other than that, he sticks to his own stuff... so far.  I know that will change, so for now... pet bowls and a plant can't be that bad right?

Dsc_3431a

Gettin' pretty strong!  He can sit up pretty good... even without hands (for a little bit anyway).  Thankfully he is figuring out how to get out of the sitting position, instead of the hard tumble straight to the floor.

I like how he still curls his toes up. :-)

Dsc_3440a

That was the end of it.  He decided the camera was fair game and came after me as quick as he could!  Look at those dimples.  Trouble... trouble I tell ya!  Notice the eyebrow... the one on his left, slightly higher than the other... trouble.

You know what sucks?  Going down to the deep freeze to get something for dinner and realizing you left the freezer door open the last time you were in it.  It is not a good thing to reach in for chicken and find out it is soft... and not very cold at all.  GRRRRRRR!  Yep, that was me last night at supper time.  The last time I was in it was 2 nights before that.  And yes, I was the last one in... can't even pin this one on anybody else.  This was all me.  We tossed a LOT of food last night.  Roasts, chicken, hamburger, sausage, bacon, STEAK (and a lot of it), unopened Costco size box of bagel bites, almost full costco sized boxes of corn dogs, and eggos.  I know I am missing some because the freezer was pretty much full!  At least it didn't stink.  I have had that happen before too... cleaning out a freezer full of rotting meat is soooooo not fun.  So yeah, if there is a positive side to this... it is that it didn't stink.  My bad.

Laine has skating tonight... I think I might take my camera.  If Ican fit it in the diaper bag.  Or maybe I should wait until James can be there and I won't have to carry the car seat, diaper bag and camera!  She is doing so good!  Quite the little skater!

She starts her Hip Hop dance class tonight too!  Busy night!  It is put on by the skating club, so both lessons are at the arena, which is good!  I can't wait!  She is gonna LOVE it!  I can't wait to see her in action!

Better go, next up on the CD list... Alannah Myles, Black Velvet anyone? he heeee  Fun!

Later!

October 24, 2007

YAY! I can step away from the computer!

For a while anyway!  I have a few more things to add.  I have to update some albums... Laine's art work and snapshots etc.

So, this is the vision I had in my head.  I wanted the blog to look and act like I wanted the blog to 'be' ...I want it more focused on 'the little things' ...makes sense since that is what I named it isn't it?!  I was going for a less 'structured' look, more of a 'story' if that makes sense. lol

The right hand side --------------------> is all about family and life and everything in between.  I will add to it every now and then.

The left hand side <-------------------- is all about me! he heeeee  No not like that, my scrapbooking, my photography (which I hope to add to soon) and things that I am diggin'.  I still have a bunch of links to add in there too, but I need to step away rom the computer for a while!

I still can't believe it took me this long to get it this way... but for the most part, blog makeover is done!

Hope you all like it! :-)

ha ha ha

Talk about a kick butt way of procrastinating!  I have spent the whole day trying to figure this out! HA!

I think I 'know' what to do.  I don't really, but I am going to pretend I do... I think I can bluff my way through it though! lol

Gotta head out for a few hours, and the blog has not yet crashed... that is a good thing.  This means I have not accidentaly deleted everything. hee heeeee

Hopefully tonight I can plunk away at this again.  I have some neat ideas... but will Typepad let me do it?  Now that is the question.  I am sure there is a simple 'why yes of course typepad has this feature' ...but I am yet to find it, so I have to pretend I know what I am doing and hopefully I can fake my way through! LOL

Now, do you want to place bets on if I am going to crash this thing?  Nevermind how long it takes! he heeeeee

yes... I will probably give up and leave it as is.  :-)

I don't have a clue what I am doing so....

if the blog crashes, or it looks like a big 'ol mess for a while... it is because I am attempting to switch things up a little.

I am scared.

I want to make headers above my 'lists' ...I am working on making them, but I have nooooo clue how to set it up! HA!  This should be good.

Yeah, it just might stay this way.

But that is ok too.

I want to re-organize everything, so it just might end up a big jumbled up mess.

Yes, I have a million other things I could be doing, but how better to procrastinate right?

Wanna take bets on how long this takes?

Later!!   ...I hope.

LOTD

We are enjoying a relaxing weekend of movie watching, snacking (so bad!), cartoons, tv shows, scrapbooking, cuddles... and hair styling of course!  It has been a great weekend!

A quick share.

Baby_room

My layout of the day for 2Peas.  Loooove these frames so much!  I have been having so much fun with bright colours lately!

Be back tomorrow... back to scrappin' for me!

Later gators!!  :-)

eta: Julie, if you are reading this... his paint colour is 'Blue Jean' from Benjamin Moore .  Sorry I din't reply sooner, I just happened to see your comment through typepad... I can't even find that post (the one about his room) on here now!  Very strange!  The colour is so nice in person, almost has a vintage feel.  Hope this helps!

What was in the box? Wanna know?

he he heeeee  I am back!  With photos!

Thanks you guys for playing along with me!

Here, I caught a glimpse of it... but Laine hadn't.  I knew right away why it was for both of us...  you will soon see what deserved this expression...

Here, Laine caught on...

yes, she is on the counter...

So... wanna know what it is?

Quick story first.

My grandpa was up a few weeks ago and took Laine to buy an early birthday present.  The store was crazy.  Laine was wanting everything.  Kid in a candy store.  Well, one of the things she really reeeaaally freaked out over was a styling head thing.  You know the ones.  The doll heads with the big hair, you know... every little girls dream right?  Well, instantly I told her she didn't neeeeeed it.  That they were silly.  In that same instant I remembered always wanting one as a kid.  Well, maybe not always... but I remember wanting one, really bad.  She was upset at me for a bit and then moved on to something else.

Well, when we got home, I went to our room and few minutes later James came in.  He knew I was upset... all I could say was,

"why didn't I let her get the styling head?"

"why didn't I let her pick out what she wanted?"

Then I told him that I remembered wanting one as a kid, and how my mom told me I didn't need one... and that they are silly.  Which yes in a way, they really are.

Well, later that night (or the next day, I can't remember which) I was bugging my mom, telling her this story.  Joking around with her about how because she never let me have one of these silly (and almost freaky) styling heads... it was forever implanted in my brain.  I was joking around saying that because I was deprived (ha ha... totally joking of course) of this as a child, I didn't let Laine pick this out as a birthday gift... because I was programmed to think they were silly.  We laughed about it (a lot), and it wasn't mentioned again.

Until last night...

Dsc_3342

A styling head for each of us.

Thank you mom.

I love you.

My face actually hurt from laughing so much!  Totally worth the wait.

...and never in a million years would I haved guessed!

October 19, 2007

So, what do you think is in the box?

This is from my mom.

It came yesterday.

James picked it up for me yesterday afternoon, but didn't get home until 8:30pm or so.

No biggie right?  Well it is to Laine and I, and my mom won't let us open it until James is here and can take a picture.  Laine was already in bed, so we have to wait until tonight.

Suspense much?

Yeah.

It has been sitting here on the kitchen counter all day.

My mom is sending me an email every freaking half hour ....counting down the hours until James should be home.

Nice.

SO?

What do you think it is?

She won't tell me.

It is killing me.

Dsc_3328_2

I thought this was cute...

Dsc_3329

...and no, the box does not hold any clues.  The logo is from where she works.  It doesn't 'shake' ...cause I have tried.  No rattling... nothing.

It is most definitely under 5 pounds... I would say anyway.

Mom, if you are reading this... you could put me out of my misery ya know.

Anyone out there reading this care to take a guess?  I would try and help, but I seriously have nooooooo ideas.  Usually I can come pretty close to figuring things out, but this one has me stumped.

And I am bored, staring at a box.  This is helping... a little.  Or maybe it is making it worse.  Yet to be determined. LOL

OK, gotta get past that... or I am going to run upstairs and RIP it open! ha!

These pictures of the little man are from today.  He was just too cute playing on the floor... so I got down there with him and took like 100 pictures. lol

These are some of my faves...  I like this one, because he sat up like that all by himself... and Molly in the background is kinda cute too.

Dsc_3274a

Bonding.  She is such a good cat... because shortly after this he tried to pull her fur out, and she just layed down and let him.

Dsc_3278a

He is just so happy.

Dsc_3290a

Crawling!  It is official, we have a crawler on our hands!

Dsc_3299a

hmmmmm, and a trouble maker perhaps?  Look at those eyebrows!  Mischief!

Dsc_3313a

He is on his tippy toes here...

Dsc_3315a

These next ones are from yesterday.  I love how the light hitting the floor frames him in these...

Dsc_3253a

Dsc_3254a

This little wooden rattle is worth something like $20... which I thought was crazy!  When we ordered his diaper bag, the store screwed up and sent it to the wrong customer, who refused to send it back... and it was the last one they had in stock... which is the story we got anyway.  But, they gave us a gift certificate to make us happy while we waited months and months to get the diaper bag, one of the things we got was this wooden rattle.  I thought why the heck not, free $$ right?  Well, I would totally dish out the cash for it myself after seeing how much he loves it!

Dsc_3165a

Harley overload?  I have to get some of Laine soon... she just makes funny faces at me these days though.  I have to sneak up on her when she is busy doing something.  Or bribe her.  Whatever works right?

So...

Help me out.  Any ideas?  What do YOU think is in the box??

:-)
