Monday already!?

I wanted to share this note that Laine wrote to her brother... spelling mistakes and all (cause it is just too cute)!

"Dear Harley.  I love you to the moon and back.  You are my faveret'st brother in the hole entier world becasue you are just to cute!"

Awwwwe!  My favourite part is "faveret'st" ...gotta love it!  Yeah, it isn't right... and no I didn't correct her, because to me it is perfect.  We work on spelling and school work enough, so I cherish these little notes that are 100% her... to me, the spelling is the best part!  Love my munchkin!

Harley is walking more and more... I still can't get over it.  My baby is growing up too fast! :-(

Piper and Newt are becoming friends.  Not just 'I will tolerate you' ...but actually playing!

Dsc_5554blog

This is them this morning.  I love that they are getting along so well, but man oh man are they loud when they play!  Newt is a 'talker' ...he makes funny noises when he plays.  Not barking, but kinda like Chewbacca from Star Wars! ...and Piper has a rather loud puppy bark happening!  Loud loud loud!  But oh so funny!

She is gonna be big and strooooong!  She has already grown so much!  Newt better take advantage of being the big dog while he can! lol

We grabbed some groceries on Friday and Laine and I decided to get some tulips.  Growing in the dirt kind... not already cut.  Anyway, she was going for all of the plants with the full blooms, the more the better she thought.  So, I finally convinced her that if we found one that has lots of 'almost' blooms, that we will have pretty flowers at home for longer.  She did not agree with me, but finally went along with it.

She will be so happy to see that it started to bloom this morning...

Dsc_5570blog

I love buying tulips this time of year... it reminds me that even though we are still surrounded by snow, that spring is coming!  Even though it is still winter outside, we have a pretty little reminder right beside the kitchen sink, that spring really is around the corner.

I haven't been getting down here to the computer very often (easier to keep Piper upstairs on the laminate... and closer to the door to get her outside), so I am once again (story of my life) behind on emails... sorry.  I am happy to report that yesterday we did make it through the entire day without a mess in the house!  I know she is far from being house trained... but that is progress!  I just can't wait for the day that she lets me know she is ready to go out!  Maybe next year. HA!

Speaking of mess in the house... my 30 minutes are up, time to take the pup outside again. ha ha!

He is walking!

I can not believe it!

I can't believe he is old enough to be walking... the past 10 months have gone by WAY too  fast!

This is right after I plopped him down so I could take a picture...

Dsc_5521blog

oh... here comes the dog, gotta go get Newt!  See his bottom 2 teeth?  I swear, everything happens at once in this house!

Dsc_5522blog

he heeee... look at that big curly tail! ha ha  Harley is going for it! lol  Awwwwe, we love your big curly tail Newty boy!

Dsc_5523blog

Dsc_5524blog_2

He is doing so good!  Most of the time if he is standing at something, he will attempt walking first... then gets down and crawls (faster and more reliable still! he heee).

Yep, proud of my boy.  :-)

Snow, sunshine, kids, puppy and even a picture of me! he heeeeee

Yesterday was family day... we didn't do much since James had to work, but I did get the kids outside for some sledding.  Well, if you can call sliding down the hill of a drive way sledding.  Laine had some fun though... and I got my exercise giving her a huge running push each time... so she actually had some speed going down!  Harley was good just hanging out in his sled watching.  It was sooooo nice out.  The sun was warm... not bad for middle of february!

Dsc_5457blog_4

Since it was so sunny, Laine insisted on wearing her shades... so stylin' too!

Dsc_5466blog

Laine and little Piper...

Dsc_5472blog

Lets pretend this is a totally cool self portrait.  My first attempt ever.  I felt left out of the Piper photo cuteness... so here we are.  I am getting my hair chopped soon, I can not wait!

Dsc_5484blog

More stylin' Laine...

Dsc_5490blog

Piper has been doing great out in the snow.  I am thankful it has been so warm... it is making house training go better!  But she could not resist Harley's nice cozy blanket, so she climbed on for a cuddle.  She even rode back to the house on the sled with him!  Cute cute cute!

Dsc_5495blog

I was making noises trying to  get Harley's attention, so they would both be looking at the camera.  He never did look at me, but Piper sure was curious!  So curious, she had to come for a closer look...

Dsc_5497blog

Yep, she is pretty much much a 4 legged little terror... a whirl wind of puppiness... but dang is she cute!

For the Record...

Yep, for the record... this set of stamps has got to be my fave!  I am using it all of the time!  Honestly, I just leave them on my desk, I use them that often!  I just wanted to share a page I did recently for the AL booth at CHA... using 'For the Record 3!' ...oh my goodness, I am in love!

Happy

Soooooo looking forward to all of the new CHA stuff!  Can't wait!

Here is another dose of Piper... in case anyone needed it. he heeee ;-)  She is so adorable, and is fitting in so well... but dang she can be trouble! lol  It is all good though... so worth it!  Her and Newt are doing good, she wants to be around him more than he wants to be around her... and his bed is absolutely off limits to her.  He says "no way!"  It is funny, because they play more outside... he gets right into playing with her outside, but inside he is more guarded... protective of his home I guess.  They will get there though.  They are doing way better then I thought they would be after just 2 days.  Piper and the cat... whole 'nother story.  Molly is NOT a happy camper.  At all.  She keeps her distance and hisses whenever Piper gets to curious and too close... but when Piper sleeps, that is when Molly gets curious and checks her out.  It is pretty funny actually!

Dsc_5433blog

he heeeeeeee!  She is just so darn cute!!

She is home!  ...and we are all in love.  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

February 13, 2008

Happy early Valentine's Day!

Me:  "So, Miss Laine... do you have a crush on anyone?  Hmmmmmm?"

Her:  The look says it all... do I have to tell my mommy that?

Dsc_5175blog

Me:  Ohhhhh, so she does... "You do?!  How many crushes do you have Miss Laine?!!"

Her:  ummmmm, gotta think about that one...

Dsc_5178blog

Me:  Good grief... this is not going the way I thought! lol  She has to think about how many?!

Her:  "ummmm, 3!"

Dsc_5180blog

Me:  Oh oh!

Hee heeeeee... just thought I would share that!  Since it is Valentine's Day tomorrow.  Yep, I think I may be in trouble.  At least I have a few years until this sort of information becomes off limits to me! lol

Today is my day in the AL 2008 Calendar (just wanted to share, cause I am still beyond giddy that I am in there! hee heeeeeee)...

Calendar_blog

It was sooooo cold the day I took that picture!  Seriously, my feet were going numb... and she was having a blast!

I was going through Laine's school work on the weekend... on Friday they bring home all the work they did for that week.  I was reading away, and I came across this:

Her wish... "I wish I had are our puppy."

Wish_blog

Well.... she gets her wish TODAY!  :-)

We get to go pick up our puppy tonight after skating!  I am so excited.  Like, 'little kid on Christmas morning' kind of excited.  Like, 'I can't think about anything else' kind of excited!  Seriously, I CAN NOT WAIT!

Puppy pictures soon to come! ;-)

Excited!

Harley had a nice long nap already today... awesome!  He still isn't eating all that much.  He just turns his head or pushes the spoon away... so lunch was pretty much a no go.  I am blaming it on the teething.  He finally has one poking through, and a white bump beside it, so I expect another one to follow soon!  This is exactly how Laine got hers.  Nothing nothing nothing and then, BAM... all at once!  I think I prefer it this way.

Here is the little man after his nap.  I love walking in after a nap, he is all smiles and giggles.

Dsc_5361blog_2

Now, we are back downstairs.  Back to scrappin'  ...I made myself an at home kit (kinda), I pulled a bunch of stuff out onto my desk and I am using it up.  Well, not all of it... but it is fun to just go with the flow using what you have on your desk.  I like it.  I like not getting up every 2 seconds to grab something.  I am hoping I can get a few pages done this afternoon...  Who am I kidding, sooooo not gonna happen! lol

I have some exciting news!  We are expecting a new member of the family in one week.  Yes, you guys will think we are nuts.  Yeah, maybe we are.  Yes, I am thinking we definitely are.  No, it is good.  It is good good good!  I have waited for sooooo long to do this.  So so so long!

We are getting a puppy!

Right now our 4 legged members of the family are Newt:

Dsc_0035blog

Molly:

Dsc_0042blog

and in one week (should be on Valentine's Day), we get to bring home her:

Dsc_5281blog

...this sweet little boxer pup.  She won't be little for long though!  We have wanted to get (ok, well I have wanted) a pup for a long time.  We decided that when we got on the acreage we would seriously consider it.  So after much much much consideration, we are doing it.  We have both loved Boxer's for so long!  We wanted a large breed dog, a member of the family, a loyal companion.  A dog that was good with kids was a must.  So, when we started thinking (ok, when I started thinking) about it more and more, a Boxer was at the top of the list.  I had a momentary stop at Husky, but then a few weeks ago we decided Boxer... most definitely back to Boxer.  (I totally blame the Snow Buddies movie previews for my consideration of a Husky... cause dang that pup is cute!) lol  This is where fate steps in.  The very next day.  The day after we decided that when we get a dog it is going to be a Boxer... James gets asked by a man he works with if we wanted or knew anyone who wanted a Boxer pup.  Fate I tell you.  How can you refuse that?  Well, it might be easy for some people to refuse that... but not us. lol  So we went to see them and we fell in love.  Of course I fell in love, how could I not?!

One more week!

I have already started puppy proofing the house! lol  It is going to be an interesting adjustment, but we are excited.  So yeah, if I didn't already have enough to do... I am now going to have to follow a puppy around! hee heeeee!

One more week!

:-)

295

Yep, I have 295 pages here.  Which I thought was a lot... until I read some of your guys' guesses! he heeeeee  720!? Miss Jenny in South Africa!  Oh my goodness, can you imagine?!   I loved your guess though, it made me giggle! ;-)

Thankfully I have a big box somewhere between 2Peas and me full of American Crafts albums.  I have my work cut out for me when they get here that is for sure!  I still have to order some 8.5x11 page protectors so I can do it up Lisa McG style (I had them in my cart, waited too long... then they came back in stock the other day).  But it will be so good to get the pages in albums!

Sooooooooo.....

Jennifer H. guessed 299 and Maria guessed 290

I have a box to send out to each of you!  That is just too close for me not to send something to you both! ;-)  Can you girls email me your addresses and I will get them out as soon as I know where to send 'em!  There is an 'email me' link in the left hand column.

Thanks everyone for playing along!  It was a lot of fun!

Since I hate to post and not include a picture... and I have no new pictures to share, here is my layout of the day that went up on 2 Peas the other day.

So

I am sharing 'cause it is one of my favourites... it is one that I actually liked everything about when I was done.  Most of the time I want to change something, or add something... this one just 'clicked' ...and I like it when that happens! :-)

Thanks again for you guesses!

February 05, 2008

Nighty night!

Hey!

Heading to bed now.  Just wanted to pop in and let you know that there are some *close* ones there!  Wowsa!  I will be back in the morning to go through the guesses and make sure I don't miss any.

This was fun guys!  I have enjoyed seeing the guesses come in!

:-)

Webkinz, the cat, and a little something for you!

February!  I must say, January did go by fast!  Usually it drags on and on... but this year, it flew right by!  That means we are closer to spring.  Not that I expect warm weather any time soon, but we are closer.  This morning when Laine went out to the bus, it was even a little brighter outside.  Still dark, but I could see her!  Now, will February go as fast as January?  Cause once we get to March... spring is definitely close!

You know what I did this weekend?  Nothing.   Saturday, I literally surfed the internet all day long.  Seriously.  I had no ambition to do anything.  Yesterday was better, (as far as getting things done goes)... (cause I really did enjoy my Saturday of nothing)... I cleaned the house.  Yep.  Wow huh?  What an amazing fun filled weekend! LOL  Oh well.  We did have fun though.  We stayed in sweats and jammies and we didn't leave the house, but we had fun!

Laine got into her Webkinz.  A raccoon named Molly (after her cat), a husky named Ashley (a story I will save for later), and a black bear named Barracuda (yes, she got the from the song... which she heard on Guitar Hero).  Yes, she is a funny girl.  Bear = Barracuda... Bear - a - cuda... ha ha HA!

For a while, this was the two of them.  He stayed in there for a surprisingly long time actually!  They were both quite content with this arrangement...

Goofy kids.

he he he I am still giggling over Barracuda.  She thought she was so clever.

So, while Laine was into Webkinz (on the desktop computer in the office/scraproom), and I was surfing the internet (laptop in family room, right beside scrap room)... Harley thought he could get into my scrap stuff.  So, I put the basket of letter stickers, chipboard sheets, etc. up on the desk.  Safe that way right?  You tell me...

Dsc_5332a_2

Basket under lamp = cat heaven.  What do you think was better?  Baby boy getting into stuff or cat squishing everything and leaving cat hair?  hmmmm, I think it might have ended up better this way to tell you the truth! lol

Funny cat.

OK, now onto some fun stuff!  Remember me doing this... piles of pages... albums... the chaos??! he heeee  Anyone care to take a guess on how many pages I have to put in albums? hmmmm?  Anyone?  So, we are talking almost all pages since I got obsessed with scrapbooking in 2004.  The person who guesses the closest gets this...

Dsc_5346a

A DW2008 Calendar and a set of Autumn Leaves stamps.  This awesome stitching set... since I love to sew on my layouts! ;-)

I know, I know... it is already February.  A month into 2008.  BUT, that is only a month, there are still 11 months of awesome scrapbook inspiration!

Anyone up for a guess?  I am leaving this open until tomorrow night before I go to bed.  So, that is Tuesday night at probably 11pm-ish.  I will put it in the mail on Wednesday... which is the next time I am going to town (other than today... but that doesn't leave much time for guessing fun now does it).

FUN! :-)

Speaking of town.  I gotta go get ready!  Be back later!!
