Right now at this very moment, I am trying very hard not to eat any of these...

Laine and I made those after school yesterday!  Between then and bedtime, I ate 2.  Not good.  Today I will not eat any... come on will power, you can kick in any time! lol  Isn't the Martha stuff cute?  The liners and flags are MS... perfect for some cute Halloween cupcakes!  Cause everyone needs Halloween cupcakes right?  Oh yes, any excuse for cupcakes!  I will not eat a cupcake, I will not eat a cupcake, I will not eat a cupcake... hee heeee!  Somebody come and eat them, so they aren't sitting there taunting me ok? lol

Last year, we didn't carve our pumpkins.  We bought pumpkins... but they stayed pumpkins.  No jack-o-lanterns for us last year.  This year, we were carving pumpkins no matter what!  Success!

Next year... I am buying a little set of pumpkin carving knives! lol  Steak knives did the trick, but definitely not ideal!  ha!  The witch almost ended up without a chin.  Although, I honestly think she could loose a bit of that chin and be better off... but who am I to judge? hee heee!   

That's about it for my Halloween craftiness this year!  We have a few things in the window etc... which I did take pictures of, but there is noooo way they are getting posted.  Lets just say I now realize just how dirty my windows are! lol

Purple the new yellow?

Naaaaaaa!  I am still having my little yellow crush, but the new KI Festive line totally has me diggin' purple!  Love all that yummy colour goodness!  I got to play with this a bit this past week, and I love love love it!  Can't wait for Christmas, so I can scrap some new photos! lol  Oh oh... is it bad to mention Christmas before Halloween is over? hee heee!

This first one was for the Focus On Fall Sports over on the KI Blog.  Yes, skating is a fall sport for us... as well as winter, and spring... and sometimes summer. ha ha!  I got all the seasons pretty much covered with one sport! lol

Had some fun with fabric scraps on that one!  And yes, I know it is the same picture and title (my brain would not come up with anything else) as the layout I did a few weeks ago... must take my camera with me more! lol

This next one, I loaded to the KI Idea Gallery, again using the fun Festive line... used a Christmas picture for this one.  Love her expression... so over the top excited about all her gifts last year! lol

I love the Festive Decor stickers, the foil accents are so so so cool!  For me to use purple as a background is a pretty big thing! lol  I don't usually even buy purple cardstock!  Although the other day, I did hit up a sale at the mall and walked out with a purple tank, a purple tee, and a purple winter hoodie! lol  ...oh and I can't forget the yellow tank that also made its way into the pile! haaa ha! ...can't forget the yellow! ;)

Hellooooooo big boy!

Doesn't he look handsome?  I have been planning to do it for a while now.  His hair was getting soooo shaggy, and well... not really all that curly anymore. hee heee!  Fresh out of the tub it curled up, but all it took was one nap etc. and it would be pretty much straight.  Which, as much as I hate to admit it... equals a mullet. ha!  The deal breaker happened on Saturday.  We went to town to do a few things.  He wore his toque.  Then took off his toque somewhere along the way.  His hair was straight as a board and frizzy... a frizzy baby mullet.  See, when his hair is curly... it isn't long enough to be 'mullet-ish'.  OK, I am not saying the 'm' word anymore... I really don't like that word... drives me nuts actually!  So, right there in the middle of the mall on Saturday, I decided we were going home and I was going to cut his hair! lol  

I think it turned out ok... it is super cute when it is all faux-mohawky!  Looooove it! He looks more grown up now! ...and you can actually see his ears! ha ha!  It ended up shorter than I planned.  I was going to leave some shag... but I have no clue how to cut hair really, so it just kept getting shorter and shorter! lol  Fresh start!  ...he can grow into some 'shag' now! hee heeee!

I feel like a crazy scrappin' maniac!

hee heeee!  So last night, I pulled out some supplies to play along in this challenge.  Pinks, yellows, blues and greens.  Sassafras, October Afternoon, and all sorts of yumminess.  I started with this layout...

What is my style anyway?  Hoodies, jeans, bright tees... cute shoes... big earings.  American eagle, Roxy and Billabong... that sort of stuff.  Relaxed and casual... bright and fun!  Anything goes really!  It was fun to do a layout about a little thing like this... it will be neat looking back years down the road and probably thinking "I was wearing what?!" or maybe "Gee, I still like the same stuff!" lol!  I had a funny thought as I was finishing this layout.  The colours look a lot like the colours I saw on a Roxy hoodie at the mall last week! ha ha!  Funny, since this was a layout about style.  I am going to take it as a sign... maybe I should go try it on?

So, that layout lead to this layout... since I was diggin' the products on my desk so much!

Yeah, the colours are all the same... and I used the same goodies... but I had fun, and got pages made!  And FAST! lol  That was the best part!

That one photographed kind of funny... that background colour is kind of odd. ha ha!  Sort of a grey-ish pinky colour.  Strange.  It worked ok though I guess!  My cardstock situation is in need of a boost!  I am running out of all the colours I like! lol

Finally, finished off with this one this morning!  I needed a break... I am thinking of doing some cards or something else with the stuff on my desk now.  Maybe? lol  

Wow, did it ever feel good to just 'scrap' ...no rhyme or reason to what I was doing... just scrappin'!  All thanks to a fun challenge!  Love how that happens!

So, last night... I was getting supper ready, and the kids were off playing in Laine's room.  I was happy they were quiet and happy they were not pulling at my leg while I was cooking.  I ignored the flicker of recognition of what this usually means... especially when I knew they were in Laine's room.  She never lets him in her room.  It was just a flicker though... in and out of my brain just like that.  

The moment he walked into the kitchen, I knew why there was a flicker.  Why I had the tiniest nagging feeling that I should check on the all too quiet munchkins.

He came walking out, in Laine's cool dude hip hop hat... wearing it with a little bit of cool dude attitude even.  Then I catch a glimpse of BRIGHT PINK on the side of his cheek?!

"What the!??"

I continued to check it out... almost frightened of what I was going to find...

"Um, Laaaaaaiinnnnnnnnne!" 

She came walking out, like I was calling her for any old little thing.

"What is this on his cheek?"

"He's a pirate."  Like duh mommy, what did you think it was?  And why are you making a big deal about it?  ...was the look I was getting.

OK, Pirate... yeah, I guess that makes sense.

"But what is it?  What is it drawn with?"  I am thinking lip gloss? ha ha!

"Pen."  Simple as that... pen.  

Oh, but of course... why didn't I think of that!?  Why wasn't my first thought that she drew on her brother's cheek with bright pink gel pen?  After all, they were being soooo quiet... I should have immediately jumped to that conclusion when I saw bright pink.  No? 

Nice set of crossbones though huh?

In the mood for a little random...

Where should I start?

Laine has now read 100 'books' (2 chapters counts as a 'book' on their reading chart) ...a good 8 months before she needed to.  Uh huh.  We went shopping the other day so she could spend some of her own money.  What did she buy?  Books.  Impressed her mommy that's for sure!

I am in love with the song 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz.  You can't help but be happy when you listen to it... especially when it is on repeat! ha ha!  Yeah, I am a 'song killer' ...listen to it over and over until I have over done it! hee heee!

I am now listening to 'I'm Yours' for the second time since starting this post! ha!  

This morning, when I took Piper out to tie her up (she likes to 'explore', and we live on an acreage with no fences... so for now, she gets tied while she is out alone), I came back into the house to Harley walking around with a bag of cookies in one hand and a cookie in the other.  Apparently he figured he should help himself to some 'breakfast'! ha!  It was so funny, he was just walking around, munching away.  

OK, now 'Viva la Vida' by Coldplay is playing.  Yeah, that one is good too.  I have already taken a break from it after I did the inevitable and 'killed' it.  It is playable again. lol

I am a really slow blogger this morning aren't I?  How many songs can I go through by the time I am done?

I am supposed to be scrapping right now.  Need inspiration... bad.  

It is a sweat pants and hoodie kind of day.  For sure.

Not much else new... it was Thanksgiving weekend up here this past weekend, so lots of yummy food and family time!  Good stuff!  I love Thanksgiving!

Sewing on fabric?

Yep, used my machine for something other than paper! hee!

My mom bought a stuffed heart for Laine a few years ago... before we went pink with her room.  The heart was blue... and as much as I always said I would not make Laine's room all 'matchy matchy' ...I did just that. ha ha!  So what did I do?  I took apart the heart, used it as a pattern... and made a pink one.  I knoooooow!  I am nuts!  Lunatic probably! lol  

I had this leftover Heather Bailey fabric from her bulletin board project ...and it has been calling my name to make something with it! 

The heart is pretty much identical to the one I copied.  I 'funked' this one up a little though... added some trims and a ruffle across the middle.  It was fun to get all crafty with my sewing machine!  I also used some of the felt ribbon from Karen Russell's Narrative line!  YUM!  ...oh, and the pom pom fringe, had to use some of that!  

I obviously need a lot of practice though, and I had noooo clue what I was doing! heee!  If you look close, the ric rac around the outside is sticking out further in some spots than in others! ha ha!  Oh well, it was fun, Laine likes it... and  it matches (all is good with the world now, yes I am totally making fun of myself here! he hee!).  My little machine does ok, but the stitch options are definitely lacking! lol  It is great for paper though! ;)

I think I will try and take a better picture of it later... lighting was bad, and I definitely over Photoshopped this trying to make it look better! lol  

Now what can I make?  hee heee!

Harley's Halloween costume?

Yes.

Yep, Molly has claimed it as her own.  This is not good.  When Molly claims something as 'her bed' ...it is her bed.  Like, every nap she has is going to be on 'her bed' ...her last 'bed' was an old arm chair.  I got rid of that arm chair.  It was that bad.

Must hide the Halloween costume! hee heee!  Can't blame her though... it is super plush and soft!

Speaking of Halloween costumes, 'Little Miss Drama Queen Laine' has finally settled on just one... Little Red Riding Hood it is!  Can't wait!

Now if I can just get Harley to walk with his costume on! ha!  He is so overcome with joy that he is surrounded with a super sized Lightning McQueen, he just sits and points and 'tells' me all about it!  Either that or the thing is really just a pain in the butt to walk in! hee heee!

yummy yummy yellow

So, remember the other day when I was rambling about yellow?  Here is one of the things I made that day...

A card I made for 2 Peas.  Yellow + flocking powder.  Two new addictions.  Have you tried flocking powder?  I hadn't until I made this card... but I can definitely say I LOVE it!  So fun!  James calls it 'little jars of dryer lint' ha ha ha!  What a guy. heeeee!

Just a quick post tonight.  Oh yes, and the iPod went ok... I think it has potential, but he was still wanting to get up and go go go! lol  Didn't help that the arena had a shiny new quad sitting in the lobby area (for a raffle) and he is all about things with tires... so he had to check that out!  It sure was cute watching him sit on the bench chillin' with the iPod... while it lasted that is! 

I also added some 'tweets' over there on the left... trying it out.  We'll see how it goes, it might not last long! hee heee!
