the little things

Christmas came early for this little guy...

This was our main Christmas present for Harley.  Spoiled boy!

He got it early.  We figured why not right?  Too big to fit under the tree anyway! hee heee! ;)  Yep, he is pushing 'Red' the Cars fire truck along the edge of the bed making 'vrooooooom' noises!  Such a boy!  He loves it.  We love it.  But let me tell ya... it is HUGE!  It might be partly because we are used to a crib in his room, but still... HUGE!  We went without the box spring for now.  Keeps it lower, so he can easily climb in and out of the end... plus it keeps the sides, so he can't roll out! lol  

He has had 2 nights and 2 naps in it.  The first night, he got out of bed once and ripped through all his toys like a little tornado.  Tucked him in again and he stayed.  Nap time the next day was interesting to say the least.  I think I tucked him in like 7 times.  I was about ready to set the crib back up when he fell asleep! lol  Last night... he didn't get out of bed once!  Awesome!  ...and today's nap, I quickly caught him getting out of bed.  He climbed back in himself, I tucked him in and he went straight to sleep!  Much better! ha!

He gets very proud when he lays down in it.  He knows it is a pretty big deal!  It is kinda funny, when I was pregnant with him, I said that this baby is staying in the crib for as long as possible!  Here we are putting him in a bed before we really needed to! lol  Oh well, it is working ok so far.  Laine was in a bed early too... but we had to lay down with her (completely our own fault for starting the routine in the first place! lol) to get her to fall asleep.  Some nights were hard... ok, most nights... after laying with her for an hour you were ready for bed yourself! lol  Harley though... we definitely are not starting that habit!  Poor little guy.  He loves his bedtime though, and actually lets us know when he wants to go to bed... so sleep time has never really been a problem!  *Knock on wood!* heeee!

It is a digi layout.  Why?  I ran out of ink... not a good thing when I was supposed to be scrapping all day! lol  No way I am running to town just for ink either... waaaay too cold for that!  So, digi it is! lol  

Oh... and about the car bed... I think we were really fulfilling James' childhood fantasy of some day having a car bed of his very own! ha ha!  Harley probably (most definitely actually) would have been fine in a 'normal' bed I am sure! lol

My one and only lonely themer for the month...

I had a bit of 'out of my box' fun with this one...  it was for the KI Focus On 2 Pagers last week!

ACK!  That was quite a few wasn't it?!  Here comes the weekend... hoping to have a productive one!  I am neeeeeeding to get creative and play play play!   Good for the soul!  Anybody else plan on scrappin' this weekend?  Or gettin' crafty period?  I also have the urge to paint a wall or something... but we won't go there quite yet! hee heeeee!

This is where I start looking forward to Christmas morning as much as they do...

So I can see their faces, and all the excitement that comes with it.  

We got our tree up last night, and I think that might be my favourite shot of the bunch... I love the way they are looking at the tree together, their interaction amazes me every single day!

It was a cold, chilly night... perfect for cozy jammies and twinkle lights!

We gave the kids an ornament each... something that is 'them', I want to ornaments to be a timeline over the years.  This is definitely the year of Lightning McQueen (first of many probably! ha!) and fairies... soooo, guess what they got? heeee!

James tried showing him how to hang it... and that sort of became a game.

He was amazed! lol  Every time Lightning was hung on the tree, he would break into huge grins!  So cute!  Yes... they did this over and over and over and over! heeee!

Miss Laine was right into the decorating.  She was careful to hang all of the breakable ones above Harley's reach... cause it is a tree full of balls to him right? ha!  She did an excellent job!

I am now officially excited for Christmas and the Holidays!  SO excited!  I loved watching their faces light up... oh man, brings back memories of being a kid!

...oh, and Harley only threw about 6 ornaments today (he likes balls! heee!).  Good thing only the plastic and other such ornaments are at the bottom! ha ha!
