Good morning everyone! Wednesday already!? How is that possible?
Since our trip to Vegas landed on the reveal for the Studio Calico May kit, Granny's Cupboard.. I missed the big reveal excitement and chat, and didn't get to post the full pages yet! :( I would have tried to sneak on in the morning one day.. but our 'free wireless internet' was a mystery that neither James or I could figure out! lol Frustrating to say the least! Had I been on the ball.. I guess I could have blogged them in advance... that ability always leaves me in awe though.. when I read blog posts that say, "oh by the way.. I am in such and such a place, and blogged this before I left" etc! I love reading those posts, but I mean.. I was still packing my bag the morning we left! ha ha! ..maybe someday I will be that organized! Let's just pretend shall we then? That this post went up on April 28th.. and I am in the middle of all the SC reveal excitement ok?
I am going to blog them in the order that I did them.. and share a little about each. I have a cup of coffee in me now.. and what can I say, I feel like chattin' a little! Surprise surprise right? hee heee!
First up was 'hopscotch' ..I think one of my favourite things from the entire kit was the hambly doily overlay! I used the light cardstock on this one to really let that overlay shine! So gorgeous! I can see myself framing a sheet of it here at home! lol Of course, since this kit was so fresh and bright, I dug into some of my favourite photos from last summer.. these being 2 all time faves!
Next, I did 'beautiful nature' ..I had some fun with the chipboard on this one! I used it as a stencil. I traced an edge of it out numerous times, and then hand painted the white in between the lines.. then fixed up the edges with black pen. Kind of time consuming, but loooved the results! Loved getting double duty out of the chipboard accent as well!
And those Pink Paislee brads.. OH MY GOSH. So vintage-y cool! Made me feel like I was using some precious antique jewelry or something.. so very pretty!
Then I started to mix in some of the add on kit.. 'linens & lace' ...so pretty! The dress form stamp.. loooove! I can see myself using that one a lot, since Laine is little miss fashionista! lol In fact.. she wanted to sneak it into her stash as soon as she saw it! hee! Here is 'my helper' ..picture is of Laine, picking up all of her clothes from her bedroom floor! ha ha! This layout reminded me just how much I love using kraft cardstock!
Then.. I used the black... I was kind of scared to tell you the truth! lol It has been so long since I really used a dark dark background like black. As much of a challenge as it was, I ended up really liking the outcome.. I think it is one of my favourite pages from the kit! And the cloud chipboard.. ohhhhhhhh, swoon!!!
The envelopes are super fun too.. and the kit came with so many! I can see myself using these again for sure!
The last layout I did with the kit was 'at our house we draw on the mirrors' ..this one was fun! Used a lot of the alphas to make a super long title! These Dear Lizzy flowers were amazing, I loved scrunching them up and cutting them in half etc.. so easy and fun to play with!
This kit was really a dream to play with! Unfortunately it looks like it is all sold out now.. I have a feeling they probably went really quick! So if you got your hands on one.. luck you! You will love it!!
I also made a layout using a combination of the Anthology and Home Front product lines from Studio Calico..
I think I am going to have to dig into the leftover supplies and play some more! I still can't believe how much is left after completing 5 layouts already! Crazy cool! Yes, I think I might dig it out this afternoon.. or this evening after the kids are in bed maybe! I am feeling the urge to pop in One Tree Hill (oh yes.. I am still on that kick) and get some scrapping done!
Time to get myself another cup of coffee! ..probably don't need it though! ha ha ha!! Later! :)

I was thrilled to find out that you guest designed for SC this month. Your layouts truly inspired me to use the kit. I have a lot of travel picutres to scrap, but I am having a creative block. My pages are looking extremely boring...sigh. Do you have any suggestions on how to scrap travel pcitures (mostly images landscapes, food, structures)? I also really like your hand written journaling technique.
Is it snowing in Grand Prairie? It is winter "wonderland" in Calgary again...sigh.
Have a great weekend.
