Gee, the week is flying by so fast!  ..and here I thought I had transitioned back into 'blog mode' ..uh ...doesn't seem like it huh!? lol  Oh well, it is summer... what can I expect right?  I barely know what we are doing one day to the next! lol

This morning I had a chance to sit down and scrap a bit, and play around with some paper.. and one thing I can share is this super quick little 'art piece' lol.. I was inspired by Jennifer Pebbles 'mod mini' challenge on the KI Memories blog... and this is what I ended up with! hee!

 

Is it silly?  It might be silly lol!  It was fun though.. and it took a matter of minutes, which was very refreshing!  I randomly cut a piece out of one of my very very most favourite sheets of KI lace cardstock (EVER.. I think I need to stock up!) ..and then embellished with a few random goodies.. and simply taped it to the wall!  It was ridiculously easy. lol  

I have always wanted a section of wall in my office to be covered with random things taped here and there (with pretty tape hee!).. this might be the start of that!

 

The other framed stuff (other than the photo) is made with 2 Peas digi kits.. printed out for personal use only of course. ;)  

Speaking of KI.. have you guys seen the peeks of the new release that is debuting at CHA this week!? 

OH MY GOSH! I am LOVING it!  Love how it is all so mix and matchable!  SO many terrific elements that are new.. oh I could go on and on... but you really should just check it out for yourselves.. it is yum yum yum!  Over the Rainbow indeed!

OK, better run!  We are having a margarita party on Saturday, and I need to go get groceries and stuff for that.. should be an interesting day!  Anybody have any recipes that would fit.. food/drink etc!?  James is building a tiki bar and everything (that is the plan anyway!) lol.. should be fun!  I am at a loss on what to serve for food though, want to stick with the mexican theme.. sooo wishing I new how to whip up a massive batch of guacamole!!  YUM!  Seriously though, any finger food type recipes pop into your head.. and if you feel like sharing, I would be forever grateful!!!  OK.. yes, I obviously should figure this out and get off the net and come up with some sort of plan! ACK!

hello friends..

Took a bit of a break there didn't I?  ..I haven't sat down in my scrap room in over a week!  We have been home, enjoying summer.. enjoying company, just hanging out.. visiting and having FUN!  

So so so itchin' to get crafty soon though!  I think I am going to set up camp at my desk today and get scrappin'! Yep yep yep!

In the meantime though, I have realized I haven't shared any scrappy pages here on the blog in ages!  So, to kick off the week I figured that now is as good a time as any!! hee!

A KI Memories layout..

 

That one was part of the 'Celebrating America' week on the KI blog.. being a Canadian, I put a bit of a different spin on it.. more rambling about that here. :)

AND.. OH MY GOSH.. HOW HAVE I NOT POSTED THIS YET!?  I am so totally yelling that by the way! ha ha!  I thought I had.. but now looking back I am realizing I hadn't, and well.. I think I have lost my mind! ha ha  I was so so SO excited to be a 'guest star' on the JBS inspiration blog.. SO EXCITED!  Which is why I am so baffled by the fact that I haven't shared these next 4 layouts here yet!??

some things I am loving this week..

1. Went to see Eclipse last night.. mini date night with James. Loved it.  I think I need to re read the books now.  I say that after every movie that comes out.. but this time.. I think I am really going to do it!  Loved getting away for a few hours for a little date. :)

2. This blog is feeling very neglected lately I think.  Adjusting routine is always hard isn't it? Loving the lack of a schedule though! 

3. Picked up these shoes at Winners the other day.. was going to take them back (I always feel guilty when it comes to my shoe addiction ha ha), but James and Laine convinced me to keep them.. sooo very glad I did!  They are ridiculously comfortable!!  

 

LOVE them.  Wore them last night for our mini date night. :)

4. I had also bought a pair of these super cool sanuk sandle shoes.. now these were comfy!  I was so pouty when I had to take them back though.. the shoes were made differently (as in the right one fit good.. and the heel of the left one was sewn together really weird and it didn't feel good at all).. it was the only pair in my size.  Might have to scout some out online! ;)  Probably an ok thing.. since I was originally on the lookout for some comfy wedges when I found these.. and I really didn't need them... but gosh were they CUTE!  Hmm.. seems to have been a good shoe week! lol

5. The Tudors.  Watching it from the beginning again.  Loooove it.

6. The Cartwheels In My Mind blog.. so very inspiring!  Check out this tank/cami makeover from Cheryl... OH MY GOSH!  Loooove!  Has the wheels turning I tell ya!  Looking at my closet in a whole new way! hee!

7. We have a boxer (as you probably remember.. we call her Piper Petunia).. anyhoo, she has had fur/coat issues since she was a pup. So we ended up switching her to a food that is bought at the healthy pet food store here in town 'pawsitively healthy' ..worked like a charm, her coat filled back up in record time (she would get little bald spots).. after about a year of perfect coat, it started to fall out again.  Took her to the vet.. no bugs or other nasty reason for it to be happening... so after some research, we figured it must be allergies.  BUT TO WHAT!?  We didn't change anything! So, that brings us to about a week ago, went to the pet store for our monthly dog food purchase.. as I get to the register with my bag of food, the girl says "ohh.. I have been meaning to call you!" (yes, they know us by name pretty much.. love that!).. anyway, the 'good' dog food company apparently started adding the 'unwanted crap' back into the food.. so they are refusing to carry it any longer, once what was in the store is gone.. they are done.  The dog food company said they hadn't switched anything yet (which is why they were still selling the few bags they had left), but had informed their customers that they were going to be in the near future.  I say 'BS'! lol  I umm promptly put the bag down, and decided to go with Canidae food instead.. within this past week, her bald patch is almost completely filled in!  HURRAY!!!!!!  Yes.. that makes me very happy!

8. What else am I loving this week? ..MARGARITAS! ha!  Perfect way to beat the heat I say!! ;)

10. Just loving that it is summer PERIOD! ..loving spending time outside, playing with the kids.. and *gasp* doing yard work even! ha ha ha!  Who ever would of thought!?

how have I not shared this here yet?

I think the lazy days of summer are catching up with me! hee!  Oh, if only that were true!  I still can't figure out how on earth I forgot to share this here though!?  Remember a while back, I had mentioned that I was working on my first ever custom blog design?  

Well.. here it is!

Carly was so great to work with!  I really enjoyed the entire process so much.. and in the end, I was *this close* to keeping the banner for myself! heee! ;)  Kidding! Carly's blog is super fun, and updated all the time with the most fabulous cards (you really should check it out)!

Anyhoo.. just wanted to share!  This was so exciting for me (kind of this inner 'dream come true' to tell you the truth)!  

Inspiration was provided by Carly (with interior decor photos, links to sites she liked.. and even just communicating back and forth!).. it was a super fun challenge to channel it all into a blog design!

I think I need about 5 days to catch up on google reader.. feeling so out of touch!  Boo hooooo! lol  OK.. starting to ramble, better run (will save those rambles for another post hee heee).. just wanted to share this 'project' with you!! Hope summer is treating everyone well!

happy canada day!

A day late though.. ;)

Hope all of my fellow Canadians had a fabulous day!  We had a pretty quite day, but definitely fun filled!

Started out with all of us sleeping in (yet again.. oh my gosh I am loving this! hee hee!).. saw a text on my phone from my sister in law saying we should head in for the Canada Day parade.  So I texted back asking what time (keep in mind we had slept in.. like really really late.. umm about 11am lol).. she replied with 1pm.. it was now noon. ha!  None of us were showered and ready, but we somehow managed to get into town and parked, and walked to the parade in time.. I think it started late, which helped immensely! ha

 

It was a very 'small town' type parade.. no big floating balloon floats or anything like that, but it was still a good time!  Loved watching the kids the most, they are so funny!

 

 

This was miss Laine's favourite part of the parade.. she was jumping up and down, absolutely ecstatic! Horses!!

 

I was kind of lazy with the picture taking yesterday.. so I ended up with a lot of pictures with the backs of their heads! lol  Oh well.

Harley's favourite part.. but of course...

 

 

I tired to get a shot of the pin on Laine's shirt here.. apparently missed the focus on everything though ha ha!  Like I said.. lazy picture day! ;)

 

Oh, and on side note.. I forgot to put sunscreen on myself yesterday (remember my goal not to get a sunburn this summer?).. well, my neck/chest area above my shirt got the most bizarre circular sunburn (like a perfect circle).. and I was wearing my silver chain that has a bird.. the bird is a couple inches in size... well, you know that effect you get when you put something on your paper.. spray your mist and then lift that something.. and you are left with an 'empty' image? ha ha ha!  OH YES!  I have a circular sunburn with a perfect little bird shape in the middle of it.  FRONT AND FREAKING CENTER!  Lovely. 

Oh.. and another side note... there were a group of roller derby girls in the parade!  I guess GP now has a roller derby association!  I think I have a new obsession!  Would that be too crazy?  Doesn't help that we just re watched 'whip it' the other night! ha ha!
